SPARROWHAWK
TO DEBUT AT MENTONE & OSHKOSH
GBAís
American Autogyro Inc. subsidiary will debut the prototype of its
new gyroplane product line this summer at the annual conventions
of both the Popular Rotorcraft Association at Mentone, Indiana,
and the Experimental Aircraft Association at Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
"This will be the first public showing of this amazing aircraft.
Even though we have not yet begun our advertising campaign, we already
have fully paid orders on nearly 20 SparrowHawk Gyroplanes which
we expect will begin being delivered this year, and we have been
delivering stabilization upgrade kits of our design, since the beginning
of April of this year," says James P. Mayfield, AAI president
and originator of the AAI product line. In addition to exhibiting
at AirVenture, AAI will have SparrowHawk prototypes flying daily
at the Fond du Lac airport a few miles south of Oshkosh. Introductory
lessons will be available for $45 at both Mentone & Fond du
Lac. We invite all who are attending these two events to visit us
and take advantage of an opportunity to fly in one of our SparrowHawk
prototypes. For the latest information on the exciting things going
on with AAI, please click here on "AAI
Update."

GBAíS
HEAVY LIFT GYRODYNE CONCEPT IN THE NEWS
GBAís
offer of a gyroplane solution to meet the US Armyís need for a vertical
take-off and landing heavy lift transport (as reported in our last
issue) has garnered much attention in many of the worldís top aviation
magazines including: Aviation Week & Space Technology, Air
International, Defense & Public Service Helicopter, Flight International
and New Scientist. GBAís proposal would modify a Lockheed Martin
C-130 by equipping it with a GBA designed rotor system incorporating
rotor-mounted tip-jets. GBAís concept is in response to a Department
of Defense study contract announced last year to examine different
concepts for meeting the Armyís need for an Advanced Maneuver Transport
(AMT). Please click here on "gyrodyne"
